A woman in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, recently filed for divorce from her husband because he failed to bring her a packet of Kurkure, a popular snack.
The woman loved the spicy snack Kurkure so much that she asked her husband to buy her a ₹5 packet every day. This caused arguments, but one day he forgot to bring it home, leading to a major dispute.
Angry about not getting her daily snack, the woman left home and went to her parents' house. She later went to the police to seek a divorce, according to reports.
The Shahganj police in Agra sent the couple for family counselling.
The couple got married last year and in the initial months, everything was going well. However, as months passed, the husband said that he was concerned about his wife's unusual craving for Kurkure because she asked him to buy the snack every day.
The wife alleged that she went to her parent's house due to domestic violence.
Recently, another couple in Agra sought a divorce because the wife refused to wear a saree chosen by her husband, which led to daily arguments between them.
