It is a well-known fact that children have a sharp memory and are very attentive to the finest of details but the same was taken to a whole new level when a 6-year-old kid Mustafa followed one of the lessons that he learned while watching the cartoon which ultimately ended up saving his life.

The incident took place during the unfortunate Lucknow building collapse case. Mustafa narrated that as soon as the tremors started, he was reminded of an episode of the cartoon series 'Doraemon' in which, the protagonist taught Nobita (another character of the show) about protecting himself during an earthquake by taking shelter in corners or under the bed, following the same steps Mustafa himself also took shelter under the bed to save himself. He further said that he saw his mother running and screaming and within seconds the entire building collapsed and everything turned dark.

The kid lost both his mother and grandmother in the incident. However, his grandfather Amir Haidar, a veteran Congress leader who was present in the house survived. The boy’s father, Abbas Haider who is a spokesperson for Samajwadi Party also survived as he was not at his residence when the incident took place.

As per reports, as of now the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has recovered the bodies of three women during the rescue operation, while 16 people have been rescued from the debris after the Alaya Apartment Building collapsed in the Hazratganj area of Uttar Pradesh’s capital city Lucknow. Meanwhile, the police have also registered FIR against three people and a further probe is underway.
