Following the victory of the NDA alliance in the Lok Sabha Election Modi will take the Prime Minister’s Oath for the third consecutive time but this time it is not the same as the previous two terms as the BJP failed to get the Majority mark and are dependent on their alliance for the coalition government. After a key meeting on Wednesday, the BJP and its allies formally announced Modi as their leader.

As reported earlier, several South Asian leaders including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth are expected to attend the event.

Narendra Modi is the second Indian leader to win a third consecutive term as the Prime Minister of the World’s largest Democracy, with the first being Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.

However, in this election, BJP has seen tough competition from the INDIA alliance reducing them to 240 seats from its overwhelming majority of 303 in 2019. The BJP-led NDA, also experienced a downfall this year reducing to 293 seats as compared to 352 parliamentary constituencies in 2019.
