US Envoy Eric Garcetti praised India's progress and developmental journey, and said that if people want to "see" and "feel the future", they should come to the country.
Garcetti, while speaking at the ‘Impact & Innovation: 25 Years of Making Development a Ground Reality’ event in Delhi, said, “If you want to see the future, come to India. If you want to feel the future, come to India. If you want to work on the future, come to India. I have the great privilege of being able to do that every single day as the leader of the US Mission.”
The US envoy's statement comes after National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan remarked that the US-India friendship has achieved new heights, emphasising collaboration in technology and other spheres.
NSA Sullivan said, "The partnership between the United State and India, a country in BRICS (bloc), has gone to new heights with an engagement across technology and security and so many other dimensions.” He said the United State feels very good about where they are in terms of its role and standing in relationships across key regions in the world.
Garcetti revealed Biden's deep appreciation for India while reflecting on his recent meetings with US President Joe Biden.
"He (Biden) has said that privately. He told that to me," Garcetti added, recalling Biden's endorsement of India's critical role on the world stage.
