ANI journalist was attacked and killed in the Sadar Kotwali area of Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, while his colleague suffered severe injuries, according to police reports. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the case, stating that the attack is related to a property dispute. The injured colleague, named Shahid, is currently hospitalised at Hallett and is in serious condition.

According to Fatehpur district's Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vijay Shankar Mishra, the victim, Dilip Saini, was a district-level correspondent for a news agency. He was attacked by knife-wielding assailants on Wednesday night near the Bhitaura bypass in the Sadar Kotwali area of the city.

Dilip and his friend Shahid were at home when 16 assailants broke in and attacked them. The attackers used knives to attack and cause fatal wounds to both victims. Saini was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival by the medical staff.

Before escaping, the attackers vandalised vehicles parked outside the house, leaving the entire community shocked. Police have filed a complaint against the 16 individuals involved in the assault. Police officer Sushil Dubey confirmed that the attack arose from a property dispute. The case has been filed against the accused for assault, vandalism, and unlawful detention.

A similar incident took place a few days earlier when a journalist in Goa was attacked by three individuals. He was returning home when the assailants attacked his vehicle in Sanguem, South Goa, and assaulted him. The journalist is a correspondent for a local channel and also runs his own YouTube channel.
