In a sad incident near a city in Odisha, two workers lost their lives while they were sleeping at a buffalo farm. The cause of their deaths is thought to be the smoke from incense sticks used to keep away mosquitoes. The workers who died were Susanta Das, 45 years old, from Palasa, and Jagabandhu Behera, 23 years old, from Sithalo village. They were working on a farm owned by Antaryami Das in Ramachandrapur.

The story began when these two workers tried to call Antaryami Das around 1:30 am. But he was asleep, so he couldn't answer the call. In the morning, Antaryami tried to call them back, but they didn't answer. He got worried and went to the farm to check on them. He knocked on their door, but they didn't respond. He then called the police and other people for help. When they managed to open the locked room, they found both workers had died. There was foam coming out of their mouths. The police checked and found no signs of anyone hurting them, and they didn't have any obvious injuries.

The police officer, Subhanarayan Muduli, said, "After checking, it doesn't seem like anyone hurt Susanta and Jagabandhu. The door was locked from inside." This means it's unlikely someone else did something to them. The focus shifted to figuring out what might have gone wrong inside the room.

One idea is that the workers might have died from breathing in the smoke from the mosquito-repellent incense sticks. The room they were in didn't have enough fresh air coming in. They found burnt incense sticks in the room, suggesting the workers might have breathed in the smoke. Doctors say breathing in this kind of smoke can be very bad for health, even causing cancer.

Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda said, "We need to look at their body and lung examinations to know why they died. If the room didn't have enough air and they burnt a lot of incense sticks, they might have been suffocated." This means the lack of fresh air and the smoke might have caused their deaths.

Something else the police are looking into is whether a generator in the room caused the problem. A generator makes a gas called carbon monoxide. If people breathe in this gas, it can be dangerous, even deadly. The police are checking if the generator caused their deaths, especially because there was no electricity that night.

The sad deaths of Susanta Das and Jagabandhu Behera remind us that even things that seem safe can sometimes be very dangerous. The police is still trying to understand exactly why this happened.
