Ajit Doval reappointed as National Security Advisor for third term

The order issued by the Personnel Ministry said, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ajit Doval, IPS (retired), as National Security Advisor with effect from June 10, 2024.”

According to the government order, Ajit Doval has been retained as the National Security Adviser (NSA) for Modi’s entire term of government or until further order. On the same note, P. K. Mishra has also been re-appointed as the principal secretary to the Prime Minister, under which term is co-terminus with that of the Prime Minister or further orders.

Mr. Doval will have the status of Cabinet Minister in terms of precedence within the Government . of India table. The other details of the terms and conditions for his appointment will, however, be communicated through another notice, as stated in the order.
