The police and Administration in the Union Territory have taken a major step against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the media reports, the properties of terrorists from India’s Jammu and Kashmir region who have taken shelter in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will be seized by the authorities. They have already started the process of having their properties attached and being labelled "proclaimed offenders" by the J&K government.
Dilbag Singh, the Director-General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, said “Traitors to the nation… the people who have taken shelter in Pakistan after being involved in terrorist activities (in India) are now trying to promote terrorism from there, according to a report by NDTV. He added that data about these militants was ready. The police chief indicated that in the Doda district, where 16 villagers who had sought refuge in PoK have been labelled "proclaimed offenders," action had already begun.
Mr Dilbag Singh said, “A few days ago in Doda range, action was initiated against such traitors, their properties have been attached and they have been declared fugitives.”
Over 4,200 of these individuals have previously been listed by the J&K Police Intelligence division, the majority of them have resided in PoK since 1990. According to the report, sources have said details of their properties have been shared with the Inspector-General of Registrations and Revenue.

PoK Infiltrators: A Three-Decade Saga
Numerous young people entered Pakistan-occupied Kashmir across the Line of Control in 1990 to receive military training. To eventually return to India and carry out terrorist acts, Pakistan trained each of them.
For individuals ready to leave PoK and return, the J&K administration launched a "surrender and rehabilitation" strategy in 2010. More than 4,000 are still thought to be living in camps, although only about 300 people returned with their families.
Over the past three decades, over 23,000 terrorists have been neutralised by security forces.
