Imagine you are on a leave with your family having a fun time with your daughter, and suddenly terrorists shoot you point-blank, not even sparing your innocent little daughter who comes to your rescue. Well, this is not a movie scene but a reality in Kashmir.

J&K policeman Saifullah Qadri, resident of Malik Saab, in the Soura (Anchar) area of Srinagar was shot point-blank by cowardly terrorists, he got critically injured and succumbed on way to the hospital. His 7-year-old daughter clinging to her fathers when attacked was not spared too; was shot by the coward terrorists in the arm.

She was rushed to the hospital in blood-covered clothes suffering blood loss but is stable now. Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul tweeted urging citizens to donate blood to this innocent child of a brave cop.

"The police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation. Officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the terror crime while the whole area has been cordoned off with the help of reinforcement and search in the area is going on," the police statement read.

Reacting to the incident, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, "I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Soura, Srinagar. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. I salute the martyr Policeman SgCt Saifullah Qadri. His service to the nation and supreme sacrifice will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved family. I pray for the speedy recovery of his daughter."

Omar Abdullah, the former CM of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir, also condemned the incident. "I unequivocally condemn this attack on Constable Saifullah Qadri of J&K police in which he lost his life," he said in a tweet.

“The injured police personnel succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the martyr and stand by the family at this critical juncture. @JmuKmrPolice”, the Kashmir Zone Police Tweeted

According to reports, police have now cordoned off the entire area to nab the terrorists. The Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has seen a spate of attacks in the recent past targeting the minorities and members of the majority community who support India. Rahul Bhat, a Government Officer, and Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo, the Sarpanch of Goush-bugh village in Kashmir are some of the unfortunate recent victims of these Pakistan-backed terrorists. The Central Government led by BJP is yet to take a serious note of the same with no steps being taken to stop such attacks.
