The Telangana High Court has ordered the state government and relevant authorities to ban children under 16 from attending movies in theatres after 11 PM until further notice. The court marked that minors should not be allowed to watch late-night films in theatres and multiplexes. It also directed the state government to engage with all stakeholders and issue guidelines regulating the entry of children under 16 in theatres, with restrictions on both before 11 AM and after 11 PM.

"Until a decision is made, children under 16 years should not be allowed to watch movies after 11 PM," the Telangana High Court stated. The court made this remark while hearing petitions on Monday regarding the hike in ticket prices for the Ram Charan-starrer Game Changer and other films.

Petitioner Vijay Gopal's counsel stated that minors should be restricted from attending late-night movie screenings, as such exposure could harm their physical and mental well-being.The council highlighted that multiplexes often run shows until 1:30 AM without any restrictions on minors' entry for late-night screenings.

He further pointed out that the government should have acted promptly to regulate minors' entry into theatres, especially after the tragic stampede during the benefit show of Pushpa-2 at Sandhya Theatre last December. The incident resulted in severe injuries to a minor boy and the death of his mother.
