Eid Celebrations: Guidelines and Enforcement Emphasized
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a number of measures ahead of Eid celebrations, ordering officials to ensure that guidelines on making sacrifices and performing prayers are followed in order to ensure a peaceful celebration of Eid ul-Azha.
Adityanath stressed the necessity for strong implementation of the law during a high-level meeting that was held by video conference from his official house. Senior police officers from all over the state were present.
"The namaz should be offered at eidgahs and mosques or at homes and no one should be allowed to offer prayers on road and in public places," the guidelines say.
Guidelines were also issued for the sacrifice of animals, a part of the festival.
"Don't offer qurbani on roads, footpaths and pathways or of any prohibited animal. Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene. Ensure that you bury the blood and entrails of the animal after qurbani or deliver it at the designated spot of garbage collection," a senior official said citing the guidelines on Thursday evening.
CM Yogi claimed that plans were on to hold public prayers in Meerut, Aligarh, and Bareilly, citing reports from social media. He implied that these actions could be attempts to undermine communal harmony.
To prevent those elements from doing so, he instructed officials to take stringent action.
Apart with the recommendations for Eid ul-Azha, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also released directives for other forthcoming events:
Authorities were instructed to keep the roads and riverbanks clean during Bada Mangal and Ganga Dussehra in order to make the celebrations and pilgrimages easier and ensure that devotees have no problems.
Public Safety: Adityanath directed officials to stop young people from doing risky motorbike stunts, placing a strong emphasis on road safety.
International Yoga Day: The Chief Minister urged public figures, including as MPs, MLAs, and mayors, to join in a lavish celebration of International Yoga Day (Yog Diwas) throughout all districts.
Yogi Adityanath also covered a number of administrative matters during the meeting, such as:
Crisis Management: Citing recent events in Kuwait, officials were ordered to create plans for possible emergencies.
Law enforcement: An order was issued to crack down on gangsters, land sharks, and history-sheeters. Additionally, the Chief Minister reminded officials not to work together with contractors on the blacklist.
Corruption and VIP Culture: Mr. Adityanath promised severe punishment for anyone engaging in corruption or unauthorised use of VIP benefits, and he said that grievances over the improper use of beacon lights and hooters will be taken very seriously.
Dispute Resolution: In order to prevent escalation and uphold law and order, officials were directed to settle local disputes at the thana or tehsil level.
Food Distribution: It was also stressed how important it was to make sure that the impoverished received free food grains.
Senior officials attended the meeting, including police commissioners, ADG zones, DGP Prashant Kumar, ACS (Home), and ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash.
