Between January 1 and January 15, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliates will launch a "door-to-door" campaign with the aim of reaching at least 10 crore people in the rural hinterland of the nation with the message of Ram Janmabhoomi.

According to a senior RSS official who spoke to News18, the organization would volunteer in small teams to go out and promote "Ram Katha," which covers Ram Lalla's life and teachings, as well as an invitation to everyone to participate in the pranpratistha utsav of the Lord Ram on January 22 in Ayodhya.

The RSS will be reach out to homes in all states

Following the coordination conference between the RSS and its affiliated organizations in Bhuj earlier this month, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosable said that the volunteers of the RSS will be reaching out to homes in all states to extend invitations to the "pran pratishtha" event at Ayodhya. This initiative has been identified by a top RSS official as one that will bring Hindus together.

To ensure that Ayodhya, Ram, and Ram Janmabhoomi become central to the national narrative, the RSS has already launched a number of activities. In addition to establishing connections with prominent figures in the social, cultural, and political spheres, the organization has been compiling speeches by notable figures associated with Ram-Sita and national culture. The senior functionary continued, "The campaign has already begun on social media and on the ground."

Taking on "divisive" agendas

Via the outreach initiative, the RSS also intends to oppose any political campaigns being run by the opposition, including the Congress. According to a senior functionary, the notion of conducting a caste census and bringing up the subject during the election campaign appears to be a "ploy" to split Hindus along caste lines.

The functionary said, "Caste discrimination is bad and we have always maintained it. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat ji has mentioned it in all his speeches and also blamed caste bias for conversion. It has been brought up in all of the talks given by RSS president Mohan Bhagwat ji, who has also blamed caste prejudice for conversion.

Lord Ram did not believe in caste, he never divided people. We have been preaching about Ek Mandir Ek Shamsan (one temple, one crematorium) for all," he stated.

"We do not have a problem with the economically backward people getting government benefits and reservation. We do not even have an issue with backward castes coming to the forefront through the government programmes. But one has to see through what the Congress is trying. The caste data is available with the government. During the census, the government collects caste data, but it was not made public for a reason," he added.

“As long as the caste survey in the states are concerned, people may ask the Congress why they did not do it over the past five years, while they were in power or earlier where they were even in power at the centre? We, from the Sangh, will try to unite everyone in the name of Ram." he continued, casting doubt on the political motivations of Congress leaders.

A special gesture from Thailand

Thai soil will be offered to Ramjanmabhoomi as a special gesture prior to the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“We have already sent water from two rivers of Thailand for Prabhu Shri Ram’s temple there. Now, we will send soil from here. Thailand has a deep cultural connection with India. It will only strengthen further. Govind Brij Maharaj has come here." The president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chapter in Thailand, Susheelkumar Saraff, told News18, "We are going to hand over the soil to him to take it to Ayodhya."

The well-known Thai businessman and Thai Chamber of Commerce advisor stated in an exclusive interview with News18, "We have made a replica of Shri Ram Mandir here in Bangkok, so people can take darshan. We have also been invited for the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Many will go there for Prabhu Shri Ram’s darshan."

According to Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Ram temple would draw visitors from Thailand.

“Till now, people used to come to visit Sarnath and Bodh Gaya. Now, they will visit Ram Mandir too," he stated.

In reference to the shared cultural heritage between India and Thailand, Saraff remarked, “In every household here, you will find Ganeshji’s idol. Symbols of many ministries here are similar to Hindu symbols. Garudaji is the symbol of many of their departments. People from different countries come here to seek Brahma’s darshan. Buddhists don’t have any problems with Hindus. They know we are peace-loving people."

"Thailand is a good place for the Hindus," he stated, discussing his plans to settle there. "It is the Rama dynasty that rules here. We speak of Ram Rajya. That exists here."
