Founded in 2023, Shankh Air is a new airline intending to commence operations in India, and has been given clearance from the Civil Aviation Ministry of the country. It will be the first structured airline flying from Uttar Pradesh with its main hubs located at Lucknow and Noida. The airline aims to provide inter-state as well as the inter-city connectivity connecting more than two states or two cities within a state of India.
The airline also boasts of the motto “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” meaning “The World is one family” implying dedication of the organization in ensuring that all investors, employees and consumers alike.
The airliners which will be used by Shankh Air include Boeing Next Generation which will provide modern, comfy and safe flights. It will be a full-service airline with Twin Class cabins in order to cater for the needs of the passengers that it expects to attract.
On sixth June, the chairman of Shankh Air, Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma sought an appointment with Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, to have a briefing on the outlook and progress of this full service startup airline. Earlier in March, the co-founders and the management team of Shankh Air proposed a partnership with Noida International Airport led by its CEO Schnellmann, and COO Jain to support Uttar Pradesh’s further efforts to enhance air connectivity.
However, Shankh Air is yet to be authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to start the operations. In its approval letter issued to Shankh Air, the Civil Aviation Ministry pointed it to compliance with all laws such as the FDI and SEBI among others.
