Trump blames Biden and Harris' rhetoric for second assassination attempt on him

According to him, the suspected attacker 'acted' on the 'highly inflammatory language' of his opponents.

After surviving the second life-threatening attack, Former US President Donald Trump came out to blame President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s “rhetoric” (persuasive speech), which triggered the second assassination attempt on him, Fox News reported. According to him, the suspected attacker ‘acted’ on the ‘highly inflammatory language’ of his opponents. Fox News reported that the suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, fled the scene and was later arrested on I-95. The gunman was armed with an AK-47-style rifle, a GoPro camera, and two backpacks.

Explaining the attacker’s mindset, Trump told the news outlet in an interview, “He (the gunman) believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.” “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” Trump added.

He further contradicted the Democrats’ previous remarks referring to Trump as a “threat to democracy,” while calling themselves “unity” leaders. He said, “They are the opposite. These are people that want to destroy our country.”

Biden’s Accusations on Trump

Biden, during his address at a recent event, underlined that Trump is trying to ignite violence subjecting to his remarks on Haitian immigrants in Ohio’s Springfield. Biden said, “Any president should reject hate in America” and “not incite it.”

The Republican nominee criticised the policies of Biden and Harris as “destroying” US “by allowing millions of very dangerous migrants to pour into it and destroying our country and cities.” “On the outside, we are weak and feeble and not respected by the world anymore,” he added.

Second assassination attempt

Trump made the claims a day after he was rushed off of the golf course at Trump International in West Palm Beach, Florida after the Secret Service discovered a gunman in the bushes.

Following Sunday’s assassination attempt, while he was playing Golf, Trump assured that he is absolutely “safe and well.”

“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” he wrote in a fundraising email.

“Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me,” he said in the email.

Debate with Harris and Biasness of media

Trump slammed the media over biases, referring to his debate with Harris last week. He said that Democrats are “protected by the media.” He called his debate at ABC News “so biased and so out of control.”

“The media is made up of fools that will spew [Democrats’] garbage and spew their sick philosophies and will protect them at all costs, and they can’t believe they get away with it. Democrats are totally protected by the media,” Trump said.

Trump accused the vice president of lying during the debate. He said, “Harris was the one lying about Project 2025, she lied about abortion, she lied about everything.”

Trump warned Democrats over their rhetoric, he said, “They use highly inflammatory language. I can use it too — far better than they can — but I don’t.”

First assassination attempt

Earlier in July, Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania. The incident garnered global sympathy for the Republican nominee. The attacker was, however, shot by police on July 13 after killing one and injuring multiple.
