The construction of theRam Temple in Ayodhya has received strong public support, with people from across the country donating generously for the project. According to Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra, devotees have contributed more than Rs 3,000 crore towards the temple’s construction.
Mishra said that the total cost of the temple project is around Rs 1,800 crore, and work worth Rs 1,500 crore has already been completed. He appreciated the people’s faith and enthusiasm, saying that the donations began pouring in after the funding campaign was launched in 2022.
To honour the contributions of these devotees, all donors will be invited to attend the upcoming flag hoisting ceremony on November 25. The event will be held inside the grand temple complex. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the ceremony and will hoist the flag on the temple’s spire.
Mishra also shared that Modi is expected to visit other parts of the temple complex, including the Sheshavatar temple, Kuber Tila, and Sapt Mandapam, which are all located within the 70-acre Ram Temple campus. Before the main ceremony, a trial of the flag hoisting was successfully conducted on Wednesday to ensure everything goes smoothly on the big day.
The Ram Temple was officially consecrated on January 22, 2024, when the idol of Lord Ram was placed in the sanctum sanctorum in a grand ceremony attended by Prime Minister Modi and several dignitaries.
Mishra also shared details about the temple’s capacity and facilities. The main temple can accommodate between 5,000 and 8,000 devotees at one time. The darshan route, the path followed by devotees for viewing the idol, takes about 20 minutes to reach the southern exit, while completing the entire route up to Sugriv Kila takes around 40 minutes.
More than 8,000 people are expected to attend the flag hoisting event on November 25, marking another important milestone in the journey of the Ram Temple project.
