Traffic restrictions have been implemented in the vicinity of the Delhi border and in the NCR areas of Noida and Greater Noida, as protesting farmers begin their Dilli Chalo march at 11 a.m. today.
Due to special traffic arrangements, the Delhi Police have urged commuters to avoid specific roads in the city's central neighbourhoods on Wednesday.

The police posted on X with the following message: "On 21-02-24, due to special traffic arrangements kindly avoid IP Marg in both the carriageways from IP Flyover towards A-point and vice-versa, ITO Chowk, DDU Marg, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Shanti Van crossing and Rajghat crossing from 9.30 am to 11.30 am."

The border crossings between Delhi and Haryana at Tikri and Singhu are heavily guarded by police, and several levels of concrete and iron nail barricades are in place.
Two roads at the border with Ghazipur have also been blocked up with comparable barricades and police presence.

The news agency PTI cited an official as stating, "If required, the Ghazipur border may also be shut on Wednesday." According to the local police authorities, commuters in Greater Noida may experience traffic diversions as a result of a protest march led by the Tikritiya Kisan Union (Tikait).

Tractors and personal vehicles belonging to farmers are expected to gather around the Knowledge Park metro station. Following that, the police said, farmers would launch a march that would pass the India Expo Mart, Sharda University, LG roundabout, Moser Bear roundabout, and conclude at the Collectorate in Surajpur.

Police stated that diversions from Galgotia Cut, Pari Chowk, LG Roundabout, Moser Bear Roundabout, Durga Talkies Roundabout, and Surajpur Chowk may be necessary to guarantee smooth traffic movement.

  • Traffic heading from Galgotia Cut towards LG via the Expomart Roundabout can use Pari Chowk to reach their destination.
  • Traffic from the Expomart roundabout heading towards LG via the IFS Villa roundabout can reach their destination via the P-03 roundabout via Paari Chowk.
  • Vehicles approaching the destination from the LG roundabout via Knowledge Park and the Export roundabout can take Paari Chowk.
  • Travellers heading from Surajpur to Pari Chowk may arrive there by taking the 130-meter route that circles the Tilapata roundabout.
  • The 130-meter road from the Alpha Commercial Roundabout leads to Surajpur for traffic heading from Pari Chowk.

Traffic diversions will allow emergency vehicles to pass safely. Police advised people to take other routes to minimise inconvenience and to call the traffic helpdesk at 9971009001 in the event of traffic congestion.
