Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India this week, and an extremely high level of security has been prepared for his arrival. A five-layer security system, involving both Indian and Russian forces, has been put in place to make sure everything runs safely and smoothly.
Putin will arrive in Delhi tomorrow evening for the India–Russia Annual Summit, which he is attending on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to sources, the two leaders will have dinner together soon after Putin arrives. The next day, Putin will attend a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Later, he will visit Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat. He will then take part in the summit at Hyderabad House and attend an event at Bharat Mandapam. In the evening, President Droupadi Murmu will host a special banquet in his honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Because of this packed schedule, security agencies from both countries have prepared a very strict plan. Around 50 highly trained security officials from Russia’s Presidential Security Service arrived in Delhi earlier to coordinate security arrangements. Along with the National Security Guard (NSG) and Delhi Police, these teams have been checking the roads and locations where Putin will travel. Every route is being examined and secured in advance.
Advanced technology is also being used. Special drones will monitor Putin’s convoy from the sky, sending real-time footage to a control room. Snipers will be positioned along the route to ensure safety. Jammers, facial-recognition cameras, and AI-based monitoring systems are part of this massive security deployment. All teams involved will stay in constant contact with the central control room.
The outer layers of security will be handled by the NSG and Delhi Police, while the closest protection will be managed by Russian security officials. When Putin is with Prime Minister Modi, India’s Special Protection Group (SPG), which protects the PM, will also join the inner security circle.
Putin’s hotel has been thoroughly checked and secured. Russian officers are inspecting every place he is expected to visit, along with a list of locations he might visit unexpectedly. A major highlight of Putin’s security is the Aurus Senat, his heavily armoured luxury limousine, which has been specially flown in from Moscow. This “fortress-on-wheels,” introduced in 2018, is known for its high-level protection and is Putin’s official state car.
