Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and West Bengal today. During the visit, he will launch development projects worth over ₹12,000 crore. These projects are aimed at improving roads, railways, IT, fisheries, and rural development. He will also speak at public gatherings in Motihari (Bihar) and Durgapur (West Bengal).

Out of the total projects, Bihar will get projects worth over ₹7,200 crore, and West Bengal will receive projects worth over ₹5,000 crore. These projects will help improve transport, create jobs, support rural areas, and boost digital services.

What will PM Modi launch in Bihar?

In Motihari, PM Modi will start and lay the foundation stone for many projects in rail, road, IT, and fisheries. He will also flag off four Amrit Bharat Express trains that will connect Patna, Motihari, Darbhanga, and Malda Town with cities like Delhi and Lucknow.

Important railway projects in Bihar include:

  • Automatic signalling on the Samastipur-Bachhwara line
  • Doubling of Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail sections. These are worth ₹580 crore.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for:

  • A Vande Bharat train maintenance facility at Patliputra
  • Doubling of the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj railway line
    These are together worth ₹4,080 crore.

In road projects, he will launch four-laning work of the Ara bypass and Parariya-Mohania section of NH-319, which cost ₹820 crore. These will improve road access between Delhi and Kolkata.

To promote IT and startups, PM Modi will open a Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre in Darbhanga and an incubation centre in Patna.

Under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, he will also start new fisheries facilities like hatcheries and fish feed mills.

What will PM Modi launch in West Bengal?

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. in Bankura and Purulia. The project is worth ₹1,950 crore and will provide PNG connections to homes, businesses, and industries. It will also provide CNG fuel at petrol pumps.

PM Modi will also dedicate the Durgapur-to-Kolkata section (132 km) of the Durgapur-Haldia Natural Gas Pipeline and the Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga (PMUG) Project to the nation.
