Prime Minister Narendra Modi is starting a two-day tour of four states today. His first stop was Sikkim. But because of bad weather, hecancelled his visit to Gangtok for Sikkim’s 50th statehood anniversary celebrations. Instead, he will speak to the people of Sikkim through a video call from Bagdogra in West Bengal at 10 am.
During his visit, PM Modi will open the new terminal at Patna airport, a power plant in Bihar, and important projects in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. In Sikkim, Modi was supposed to join the 50th anniversary event at 11 am. Since he can’t go there, he will lay the foundation stone and open several development projects in Sikkim through video calls.
These include a new 500-bed hospital in Namchi district and a passenger ropeway at Sangachoeling.
PM Modi will visit West Bengal and start a new City Gas project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar around 2:15 pm. This project, costing over Rs 1010 crore, will bring natural gas pipes to more than 2.5 lakh homes. After that, he will go to Bihar to open the new passenger terminal at Patna Airport.

PM Modi will also visit Kanpur Nagar in Uttar Pradesh at around 2:45 pm on Friday. He will open many important projects worth about ₹20,900 crore. These include the Chunniganj Metro Station, part of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, which costs over ₹2,120 crore and will add 14 stations, including five underground ones near key city areas. Modi will also open a 660 MW extension of the Panki Thermal Power Project (₹8,300 crore) and three 660 MW units of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project (₹9,330 crore). He will start a 220 kV substation near the Yamuna Expressway and open 132 kV substations in Greater Noida.
