In Karimnagar district, Telangana, police have filed a case against an operation theatre (OT) technician at a private hospital for allegedly raping a young woman while she was unconscious. The woman had been admitted to the hospital for treatment of viral fever.

The accused, identified as Dixit, is reported to have administered an anaesthetic injection to the patient before allegedly committing the assault at Deepika Private Hospital. After the victim filed a complaint, police launched an immediate investigation and registered a rape case against him.

Karimnagar Commissioner of Police, Ghaus Alam, stated that the hospital room where the alleged incident occurred has been sealed, and forensic teams have collected samples for laboratory testing. He added, “We have secured the room, verified all details, and collected evidence. A case has been registered under charges of rape.” CCTV footage from the hospital has also been confiscated, and the commissioner said that complete details will be shared once the investigation is finished.

Another similar case

In a separate case in Jangaon town, Telangana, police arrested 10 men for allegedly gang-raping a young woman. The accused are Mohammed Owaisi, Muthyala Pavan Kumar, Bauddhula Shiva Kumar, Nookala Ravi, Jetty Sanjay, Md. Abdul Khayoom, Pustakala Sai Teja, Muttadi Sumanth Reddy, Gunda Sai Charan Reddy, and Oruganti Sai Ram, all residents of Jangaon.

Police said that the men lured the victim in June under the pretense of love and friendship. They reportedly took her to a room behind Tea World on the Jangaon–Suryapet road, where she was sexually assaulted. One of the accused allegedly took her to Goa, claiming to be in love, and is said to have engaged in sexual acts with her multiple times. The victim’s aunt later lodged a complaint, prompting police to register a case and arrest all 10 individuals.
