He is the chairman of Tata Trent and vice chairman of Tata Steel and will now take charge of Tata Trusts. Tata Trusts owns 66% of Tata Sons, which is the main company that manages all the Tata group businesses. Tata Trusts, started in 1892 by Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata group, focuses on helping in areas like education, healthcare, and housing.
Noel Tata has worked with Tata Trusts for many years and is also a trustee of two important trusts, the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.
