A farmer from Madhya Pradesh, with his wife and three children, walked on their knees to the SDM office in Khategaon on Thursday to express their frustration over a land dispute. They were protesting because they couldn't reach their maize crop and needed help.

Why did the farmer protest?

Farmer Lakshman explained that his neighbouring farmers have blocked the path leading to his field, preventing him from harvesting his maize crop. "Due to this, I am not able to go to the field, and I am not able to harvest the maize crop. The crop has been lying in my field for two months," Lakshman said. He mentioned that he had raised the issue with authorities multiple times, but no action has been taken so far.

Angry and desperate, Lakshman, along with his wife and children, walked on their knees to the SDM’s office, demanding a solution.

SDM's response

In a discussion with the media, SDM Priya Chandrawat said, "The concerned farmer, Laxman, had a dispute with the neighbouring farmers regarding the road. Laxman has lost the case in the civil court. Therefore, no direct action can be taken in this matter. To help Laxman and as a humanitarian, we will try to help him in every possible way by sending Tehsildar and Patwari to the spot." A video of the family's protest was shared by Times Now on Thursday.
