Megastar Konidela Chiranjeevi, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated actors, was awarded a Guinness World Record, recognizing him as the most prolific star in the Indian film industry in the actor/dancer category. He received this special award during an event that celebrated his amazing career as both an actor and a dancer. His career has lasted for more than 40 years, making this recognition even more meaningful.

Chiranjeevi, widely known for his impressive dance performances in the Telugu film industry, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award, stating that dancing had played a significant role in his rise to stardom. “I never sought recognition from the Guinness World Records, but it feels incredible to be honored for my dancing. Dance made me a star and has brought me many rewards throughout my career,” he said.

According to the official Guinness World Records certificate, Chiranjeevi, also known as Mega Star, has performed an astonishing 24,000 dance moves across 537 songs in his 156 films. This accomplishment was achieved over a 45-year-long career that began in 1978.

Chiranjeevi started his career in movies on September 22, 1978, and since then, he has become very famous in South Indian cinema. He is well-known for his amazing dance skills, and both his fans and movie critics love the way he performs difficult dance moves.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Stenning was present at the event and praised Chiranjeevi’s remarkable career. “After thoroughly reviewing all 156 films and his dance performances, we found this achievement to be officially amazing,” Stenning remarked, highlighting Chiranjeevi’s contribution to the film industry.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who shared the stage with Chiranjeevi, also expressed his admiration for the megastar, calling him an inspiration and a role model. “I see him as my elder brother. I was so happy that Chiranjeevi garu is being given this honor. His heart and soul are present in every song he performs,” Khan said.

Chiranjeevi’s achievement was also celebrated by political figures, including Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy. All three leaders took to social media to extend their congratulations.

Revanth Reddy posted on the platform ‘X’, “It is a matter of pride for Telugu people that popular movie actor Konidela Chiranjeevi has secured a place in the Guinness World Records.” Similarly, Chandrababu Naidu praised Chiranjeevi’s unmatched contribution to Telugu cinema, adding that this recognition elevates the pride of Telugu people worldwide.

Chiranjeevi has appeared in more than 150 films across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada cinema. Some of his most popular films include Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Stalin, and Gang Leader. His daughter, Sushmita Konidela, along with other family members attended the event, and his fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages.

In addition to this latest honor, Chiranjeevi has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor in 2024. He has also been recognized with the IFFI Indian Film Personality of the Year Award in 2022, among many other accolades throughout his career.
