A man driving an Audi in Ahmedabad crashed into several cars and two-wheelers while drunk. The accident took place at 9:30 am near Ambli village of  Ahmedabad when the car lost control, hit six cars (one twice) and three two-wheelers, and then crashed into a road divider. The crash scared people nearby and spread panic among others.

Although no injuries were reported in the incident, the police have arrested 41-year-old Ripal Mahesh Panchal, the driver of the car, according to The Indian Express.

The police said Panchal seemed to be drunk. A video taken by locals after the car stopped showed him unconscious inside. As people gathered to record, he was seen holding a cigarette and smoking with his eyes still closed.

Traffic police said Panchal knowingly endangered others' lives, and an FIR has been filed based on a complaint from a driver whose car was hit by Panchal. In the complaint, the driver said the Audi was speeding and crashed into his car outside a showroom, then hit a two-wheeler. The impact threw a woman rider onto the road. The car kept crashing, hitting a motorbike, an SUV, and another car.

Before stopping, the Audi also hit a mini-truck and a Mahindra XUV 300 that was parked on the roadside.
Panchal will be  facing charges for reckless driving, driving while drunk, and damaging property. In a statement, Neeta Desai, DCP Traffic (West), announced that two police officers, Head Constable Sirajuddin Yunuskhan and Constable Pruthvirajsinh Bharatsinh, have been suspended for suspected negligence.

An inquiry, led by ACP SJ Modi of Traffic A Division, will investigate the claimed delay in contacting the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and filing the FIR. This inquiry will focus on in-charge Inspector PM Marwada and ASI Ratilal Mohanlal.
