A man was arrested in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex in Ayodhya for clicking pictures with camera-equipped sunglasses, officials said on Tuesday. Jani Jaikumar of Vadodara, Gujarat, had snapped pics despite a tight restriction on photography and videography in view of security concerns.

Despite the several security checks that had been implemented, Jaikumar was still able to traverse along the path of Ram Janmabhoomi and reach Singhdwar at the temple premises on Monday. His unusual behavior was noticed by the security personnel when the camera light mounted on his sunglasses began flashing as he clicked some pictures.

"The youth was immediately taken into custody after the suspicious device was discovered," said SP (Security) Balramachari Dubey.  The glasses, which were fitted with cameras on both sides and a button to capture images, are priced at around Rs 50,000.

Anurag Bajpai, an SSF jawan, apprehended Jaikumar after he detected the device. His prompt action ensured that no further security breach occurred. "The security watcher's quick action ensured no further security breach occurred," Dubey added. Bajpai is going to be rewarded for his vigilance.

He, who is described as a businessman, is undergoing interrogation by the authorities to get to the bottom of his reasons and how he managed to penetrate the security layer.
