Early this morning, a powerful explosion shook an ordnance factory in the Jawahar Nagar area of Bhandara, Maharashtra. The blast has left several people trapped under the broken parts and five persons dead, demanding immediate rescue efforts.
The explosion took place at the factory, causing the roof to collapse and trapped 12 workers under the broken ceiling. Rescue operations began right away, with firefighters, ambulances, and earthmovers rushing to the scene to help those affected.
The Public Relations Officer of Defence, Nagpur, said that medical and rescue teams have been sent to help survivors, and further updates are expected soon.
According to Bhandara Collector Sanjay Kolte, two people have been rescued so far, they are working to locate and save the others still trapped. Earthmovers are working to remove the debris as quickly as possible.
Rescue teams are working tirelessly to clear the collapsed roof and reach the trapped individuals. Emergency responders, including ambulances, are on standby to provide immediate medical attention to the injured.
Reacting to the blast at the ordnance factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said, “This is the failure of the Modi government.”
However, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his concern by saying that, he is deepely saddened by the blast at the Ordnance Factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra. He assured that rescue teams are on-site and all possible help is being provided to those affected.
Investigations into what caused the explosion will begin once the rescue operation is complete.
