Pro-Khalistani elements in Canada have apparently been strengthening its brigade by funding visas for Punjab's young to work in positions that require only a moderate level of ability, such as performing religious responsibilities in gurudwaras they control, according to the Times of India, which cited sources from Indian Intelligence.
How the Khalistani terrorist network operates?
According to an English newspaper, the assassinated Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and other Khalistani members formed their brigade by providing housing and unskilled work to Indian students and undocumented immigrants. In over 30 gurudwaras run by pro-Khalistan elements around Brampton, Surrey, Edmonton, and other cities, an official told TOI that numerous "indebted" kids were engaged as truck drivers, plumbers, or as sewadars, pathis, and ragis. They were misled by educating them how the separatist movement in Canada ran extreme religious gatherings and organised anti-India marches.
The newspaper further reported that Shiromani Akali Dal, a political organisation with its headquarters in Punajb, allegedly charges between 1-2 lakh to give a "letter" to a state's youths who wish to apply for political asylum in Canada under the false pretence that they are party members being persecuted in India on account of their religion.
The Khalsitani elements' influence at gurudwaras across the nation allegedly increased as a result of Canadian authorities soft-pedaling them, according to the Intel sources. The influence has grown to such an extent that it is now threatening to deface the temples of local Hindus from the Indian diaspora and scaring them.
According to one officer, pro-Khalsitan groups have been conducting separatist and terrorist actions on Canadian land for 50 years under the guise of "freedom of expression," "political advocacy," etc.
It has been established in various NIA investigations that a Canadian-based mobster was responsible for transporting drugs from Pakistan to Punjab. According to the charge sheet submitted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in March of this year, the pro-Khalistani banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has established a symbiotic terrorist-gangster network between gangster and Pro-Khalistan elements that satisfies their need for shooters to carry out targeted killings. In exchange, the gangsters gain access to high-tech weapons from the other side of the border.
According to the NIA, the BKI terrorists are present in Pakistan, North America, Europe, and Scandinavia in addition to India.
Wadhwa Singh Babbar, who is currently hiding in Pakistan, is the organization's leader, according to the agency.
