On Monday, December 18, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, disclosed the activity plan of the trust for the Ram Temple's consecration event.
The event is scheduled to take place in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22. He attested to the fact that the invites to the guests have been sent out and the guest list has been finalised.
Individuals from many professions, such as scientists, physicians, industrialists, poets, and artists, are welcomed. During a news conference in Ayodhya, Rai—who is also the International Vice President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP)—invited the families of kar sevaks who sacrificed their lives during the Ram Mandir campaign.
According to Rai, two of the three idols are being crafted using stones from Karnataka and one from Rajasthan. The consecration event will take place in the first week of January, and the best idol among these three will be chosen.
“You are aware that after a long struggle, the construction of temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is in progress, and on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080, January, 22 2024, the new idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum. On the historic day, it is our strong desire that you be present in Ayodhya," the invitation letter written by Rai was sent to the guests.
Invitees comprise of athletes like Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar
The major event is being attended by around 100 Vishva Hindu Parishad members and 25 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders.
Prominent invitees comprise of athletes like Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, movie stars like Amitabh Bachchan, and business titans like Mukesh Ambani.
A number of people who were instrumental in the Ram Mandir movement have also been invited.
The trust has determined that on January 22 between noon and 12.45 p.m., the idol of Lord Ram will be enthroned at the sanctum sanctorum. The principal ceremonies of the consecration ceremony are expected to be performed on the day of the temple's opening by Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a Vedic priest, who would be accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
