Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with soldiers near Sir Creek, close to the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat's Kutch district. He assured everyone that his government is fully committed to protecting India's borders and will not give up even a small part of its land. Modi also highlighted that the people of India trust the armed forces to keep the country safe.
PM Modi told soldiers from the Border Security Force, Army, Navy, and Air Force that the people of India feel safe because of them. He said that when the world sees them, it sees India’s strength, and when enemies see them, they know their bad plans will fail. The Prime Minister also shared that the current government trusts the strength and abilities of the Indian armed forces to defend the country instead of relying on promises from unfriendly nations. He added that this government will not give up even a single inch of India’s borders.
Unified strength of forces and border infrastructure development
During his address, PM Modi stressed the importance of unity among the different branches of the armed forces, stating, "We see the Army, Navy, and Air Force as different entities, but their strength will increase manifold when they come together." He further pointed out that developing infrastructure in border areas is a "top priority," and the government is focused on ensuring the country’s borders are secure while moving towards the goal of a developed India. “You all are protectors of this dream,” he said, emphasising the role of the armed forces in supporting India’s progress.
The Prime Minister’s visit happened soon after India and China agreed to step back from two disputed spots in eastern Ladakh, ending a four-year standoff along the Line of Actual Control. PM Modi also spoke about how Kutch could attract tourists, mentioning that tourism near the borders is connected to national security, even though people don’t often talk about it. He pointed out that bringing more visitors to these areas could help the economy grow and make people more aware of the importance of border security.
