Hyderabad is gearing up for its first artificial beach at Kotwal Guda, located on the city outskirts. Spread across 35 acres, the project will include a man-made lake at the center, giving visitors a beach-like experience without leaving the city.

The Telangana government has announced that construction is expected to begin in December 2025, with an investment of ₹225 crore under a public-private partnership. The initiative aims to boost tourism in the region and provide a recreational spot for city residents.

The artificial beach will be more than just sand and water. Planned features include:

  • Floating villas and luxury hotels for comfortable stays

  • Adventure sports such as bungee jumping, sailing, skating, and winter sports

  • Family-friendly areas with parks, playgrounds, and cycling tracks

  • Leisure zones, including food courts, theatres, decorative fountains, and a wave pool

Kotwal Guda was chosen for its easy access via the Outer Ring Road and suitability for eco-friendly development. Patel Ramesh Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation, said, “The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is already complete, and groundwork will begin shortly.”

Ramesh Reddy added that Telangana has untapped tourism potential worth over ₹15,000 crore. The artificial beach is expected to be a major attraction, drawing both local residents and international tourists.
