Across the years, at several instances when new Hindu Temples were made anywhere in the country, we saw netizens, political leaders come up with suggestions that Temples don't serve any purpose, rather Schools and Hospitals should be built in their place.
This discrimination and partiality were always seen with respect to Hindus and no other religious place was subject to such suggestions and concerns as if they were extremely useful to Humanity and only Hindu temples harmed people who had non-existent belief in the religion.
Post-verdict of the Ram Janmabhoomi - Babri Masjid case, 5 acres of land had been provided to the Muslim party instead of the deserving 2.77 acres in Dhannipur area near Ayodhya which already has 15 mosques. The Sunni Waqf Board has today formed a trust to begin the construction of a mosque on that piece of land.
But the question is where are the people who said religious places are a 'waste' of money? They must not be able to absorb that a useless mosque is being built on such a huge piece of land that could rather become a source of education or probably provide healthcare to the citizens.
No doubt we will see a lot of people opposing the thought and claiming "they already are making a school and hospital". Then let's be clear, madrassa is not a school/research center and a clinic isn't a hospital.
I on their behalf want to raise my voice that instead of the unproductive mosque that will only contribute to noise pollution, the compensated land should be handed over to the government to build an IIT/IIM or maybe an AIIMS.
