In yet another attack on Hindu saints, a sadhu was brutally attacked, stabbed and left to die by seven to eight unidentified persons at his ashram in the state’s Aurangabad district on Wednesday night.

Late on Wednesday, the unidentified assailants entered the sadhu’s ashram after breaking down the back door to the building. They found a woman in one of the rooms of the ashram and threatened her to disclose the location of ‘Maharaj’. The woman panicked and told them that Maharaj was upstairs.

Following this, the assailants went upstairs, attacked the Sadhu and fled. The attack left the monk's left leg critically injured. Police rushed to the spot after being alerted. The victim, with his clothes soaked in blood, was shifted to a private hospital in the city for treatment.

This comes just after a few months of mob lynching of 2 sadhus and their driver in Palghar when they were lynched to death by a mob of hundreds of people in front of the Police.
