In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old man in Bengaluru who runs a rehabilitation center was arrested for allegedly peddling drugs, Girinagar police said.

Police seized 11 grams of MDMA and 3.5 grams of ecstasy worth 1 lakh rupees, from Subhash S, a resident of Srinivasanagar.

Subhash is the head of Poorna Pragnya Foundation, which offers rehabilitation services to people struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction.

Police received a tip that Subhash is peddling drugs to college students in Banashankari.

A police team arrived at the scene and collared Subhash, who tried to escape upon spotting the officers. The drugs were seized from his possession.

P Krishnakant, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), expressed shock and concern upon discovering that the director of a rehabilitation center was involved in drug trafficking.

Subhash has been arrested and faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. During interrogation, Subhash confessed to procuring drugs from another dealer and selling them.
