The Indian railways are finally set to launch brand new Vande Bharat trains, but these would not be like the other Vande Bharat trains. Instead, these trains will have sleeper coaches with the images of the concept train coach being shared by the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw himself on the microblogging site Koo. In his post on the platform, he has said that the new coaches will be out by early 2024. "Concept Train by Vande Bharat (sleeper version) Coming soon... early 2024", the minister wrote on Koo and X.

The new Vande Bharat coaches are reported to have a list of new features such as wider berths, brighter interiors, spacious toilets, mini pantry and advanced safety features. These new trains are also expected to be more energy-efficient and environment friendly than the current coaches.

The introduction of the sleeper coaches in Vande Bharat is a step in the right direction as this will make travel more comfortable and passengers will be able to travel long distances in such high-speed trains overnight comfortably. This also makes train travel much more attractive for the passengers and overall boosts the number of passengers who will choose railways in the future.

This train will be manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai and will stand as a symbol of the ‘make in India’ initiative and showcases India’s engineering prowess. The train also stands as a symbol of a progressive and ‘atmanirbhar’ Bharat.

This new indigenous semi-high-speed train aims at providing a brand new experience to the passengers. It is equipped with world class features which promises a special and comfortable journey to the travellers. The hallmark of this train is believed to be Speed, Safety and Service.

The first Vande Bharat Express was between New Delhi and Varanasi and was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019. This train is India’s first semi-high-speed train with the train already having achieved the top speed of 180 kmph on the Kota-Sawai Madhopur section.
