‘Gurucharan Singh’ aka Sodhi, actor from ‘Taarak Mehta’, returns home after 24 days
Last month, news of the actor's abrupt absence and alleged financial difficulties made headlines. It was also disclosed by sources that he was getting married soon.
Actor Gurucharan Singh, who had been absent from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma for more than 25 days, made his way back home on Friday, according to the police.
After the 50-year-old actor left his Delhi home on April 22 but never made it to Mumbai, his family filed a missing person’s report.

After returning home, Mr. Singh, who portrayed Roshan Singh Sodhi in the well-known TV series, was questioned. He claimed to have “left worldly life” to start a “religious journey” when he spoke with the police. He claimed that during this journey, he visited numerous towns and lodged at gurudwaras in Ludhiana and Amritsar.
But after over a month, Mr. Singh told authorities, he believed it was time to conclude the pilgrimage and go home.

A few kilometres from his residence, in Palam, Mr. Singh was last spotted on a CCTV video on April 24. In the video, the actor could be seen carrying a rucksack as he crossed a street. Not long after, he turned off his phone and vanished from sight.
Mr Singh had taken out around ₹ 7,000 from an ATM in Delhi prior to his disappearance. “His flight was scheduled for 8.30 pm on Monday, but he was seen at a traffic intersection in Palam at around 9.14 pm,” officials stated.
Based on his father’s accusation, police opened an abduction case and established several teams to find the actor.
