The Indian government has asked all Indian citizens to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those who are already in Pakistan have been advised to return home as soon as possible. This decision comes after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people, including a foreign national, were killed.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) gave this advice on Thursday, just days after the Cabinet Committee on Security discussed strong steps against Pakistan following the attack.
In an official statement, the MEA said, "Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest."
Along with the travel advisory, the government has also suspended all visa services for Pakistani citizens. This means Pakistani nationals can no longer get Indian visas. All existing visas have also been cancelled from April 27, 2025.
However, medical visas that were already given will remain valid till April 29, 2025. Pakistani citizens who are currently in India have been told to leave before their visas expire.
This action is part of India’s strong response after the Pahalgam terror attack, which has shocked the entire nation.
