Cross-border evidence found on terrorists in Kathua attack

Police discovered three live grenades, ₹1 lakh in ₹500 notes, Pakistan-made chocolates, dry chenna, and stale chapatis in the terrorists' possession.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, two terrorists were killed in an encounter on Tuesday, June 11. Security forces found several Pakistan-made items in their possession, raising concerns about cross-border support. This incident, now referred to as the Kathua attack, has heightened security concerns in the region.


Authorities recovered three magazines with 30 rounds, three live grenades, and ₹500 notes worth ₹1 lakh from the terrorist. They also found Pakistan-made chocolates, dry chenna, stale chapatis, medicines, painkiller injections, two packs of A4 battery cells, a handset with an antenna, and two dangling wires.

The terrorist had attacked a village in Kathua, resulting in the death of a CRPF soldier. A fire exchange broke out in the Hira Nagar area on Tuesday evening. This incident was part of a series of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, including two separate attacks on the same day in Doda and Kathua, which killed a CRPF jawan and injured six security personnel.

On Sunday, a terror attack targeted a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, killing ten people. On Wednesday, June 12, terrorist opened fire on a Special Operations Group (SOG) camp in Tantna Gandow of the Doda district. Two terrorists were killed, and a search operation is ongoing.

Police Response and Rewards Announced After Kathua Attack


Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina visited the families of the bus driver and conductor killed in the Reasi attack, praising their bravery for foiling the terrorists’ plans.

In response to the ongoing threats, Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches of four terrorists involved in activities in the Doda district and announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information on each terrorist. They also offered a Rs 20 lakh reward for information on a terrorist involved in the Reasi bus attack
