Congress leader Rahul Gandhi thorough the weekend slammed the centre for several national policies including the National Education Policy 2020 which he alleged was introduced without consulting teachers and students and said it is being "used as a weapon to communalise and push a particular ideology".

He even attacked BJP's ideological parent RSS saying that it has destroyed the institutional balance in the country by “systematically attacking elected institutions and free press” for the last six years.

"An education system is for our students and it is run by our teachers. If we are going to have any policy made for the education system, then, it has to come from a conversation with students and professors. Unfortunately, this was not done," Rahul Gandhi said on Sunday while interacting with college professors at St Xavier's College in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

Rahul further said that when the Congress party comes to power in the state, the party would push for scholarships in education.

"I don't believe that education should be only for financially strong people. When we (Congress) come to power, we are going to push for scholarships in education," he said.

“I am sad to tell you that democracy is dead in India. It is dead because one organisation- the RSS has combined with huge finances to penetrate and disturb and destroy our institutional balance,” said Gandhi, kicking off his three-day campaign in Tamil Nadu, which is slated to go to polls on April 6.

“There are many different manifestations of this- misuse of sedition law, killing and threatening of people, these are all symptoms.”

He also spoke of judges receiving ‘plum posts’ after their retirements. “What happens when we come to power? There’s full penetration of all institutions. We’ll have to deal with 15 years of judges who have been placed in the judiciary because they support one political party. It’s going to be a huge challenge...”

Rahul Gandhi is going on in a full blown attempt at election rallies to stop the crash of Congress which is continuously seeing a downfall election after election and seems like he is going well as per the Congress strategies are concerned.
