To reduce pollution in Delhi, the government plans to use advanced machines to clean roads throughout the year. These machines were recently shown in a demo and include super sucker equipment to remove waste like cane and concrete.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta told Aaj Tak that dust and garbage on the roads have been major causes of air pollution, which is harmful to people’s health. She said the government had already planned to bring new machines for cleaning. Smoke guns will also be used to help fight pollution. These machines will help keep the city clean all year round.

Chief Minister Gupta also said that every assembly constituency will get at least one new road-cleaning machine. These fully automatic machines can remove dust and large waste, have a water system, and can dispose of garbage on their own. The aim is to reduce dust pollution and improve cleanliness more quickly. She added that these electric machines won’t cause pollution while cleaning. “We are committed to making Delhi cleaner and healthier with the help of this new technology,” she said.

Last month, the Delhi government also reviewed cleaning machines from various companies. Officials said the machines won’t be bought but hired, and payment will be based on the distance cleaned. The CM said these new electric machines are much better than older ones and support Delhi’s eco-friendly goals by avoiding fuel emissions.

Delhi’s current situation

Delhi is currently struggling with high pollution levels. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is around 133, which falls in the “poor” category. Experts have also noticed a big rise in ozone pollution, especially during the summer months. This kind of pollution can make it harder for people to breathe and is dangerous for those with asthma or lung problems.
