The Delhi government has come up with a smart and useful idea, turning old buses into small shops! This plan is meant to help people start their own businesses while also fixing the problem of not having enough cheap places to open a shop in busy parts of the city.

Under this new project, old and unused Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses will be converted into mini stores. These stores will be placed at three of the city's busiest bus stations—Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihar, and Sarai Kale Khan. These places are visited by thousands of people every day, but they don’t have enough shops or places to eat.

The main goal of the plan is to give travelers better options, especially for food and snacks in the morning. A Times of India report says the focus will be on improving basic services at these busy transport hubs.

To get things started, the Delhi Transport Department has already asked for proposals from companies interested in setting up shops in the old buses.

This idea is part of a public-private partnership (PPP). That means both the government and private companies will work together. If someone wants to run a shop in one of the buses, they must follow all the rules. This includes getting licenses from the local municipal body, the police, and paying taxes and other charges.

A government official explained that the person in charge of the shop must make sure there is clean water, proper toilets, and safe ways to throw away trash. They also must take care of the bus so it doesn’t get damaged.
