A tragic incident occurred near Parliament on December 25 when a man, identified as Jitendra from Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh, set himself on fire. Sadly, he passed away early Thursday morning at 2:30 am. Self-Immolation near parliament
On Wednesday, Jitendra set himself on fire in a park near Rail Bhavan, close to Parliament House. Witnesses reported seeing him running towards Parliament while in flames before authorities stepped in. He was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but his injuries were too severe.
Burnt note and bottle found
Police recovered a half-burnt, two-page note from the scene. The contents of the note are not yet clear, and investigations are ongoing to find out why he took this extreme step. A bottle of petrol was also found at the site.
Officials say that preliminary findings suggest Jitendra might have been troubled by personal issues. However, they are exploring all possibilities, including clues from the note.
Questions raised about security
This incident has raised serious concerns about security near one of the country’s most protected areas. Authorities are now investigating how Jitendra managed to carry out this act in such a sensitive zone.
The police are contacting Jitendra’s family in Bagpat to learn more about his background and any reasons that may have led to this tragic act.
