Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has made a significant announcement, enforcing a complete prohibition on photography and videography within the premises of Kedarnath Temple. To ensure compliance, the temple committee has prominently displayed warning boards inside the temple premises, stating that legal action will be faced by individuals found capturing photos or recording videos.

The President of the Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, Ajay Ajendra, has stated that the decision to impose a ban on photography and videography within the temple premises was influenced by certain pilgrims who had been capturing videos and taking pictures in an inappropriate manner. To strictly enforce the ban, warning boards have been prominently displayed at Kedarnath Temple.

The implementation of this ban follows an incident where a proposal video shot outside the temple went viral, leading the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee to request the police to closely monitor individuals recording videos on the premises, as such actions were deemed offensive to the sentiments of devotees.

In a letter to the police, the temple committee expressed concern over the production of videos, YouTube shots, and Instagram reels by YouTubers and Instagram influencers that disregard the religious sentiments of people, causing distress to devotees visiting the temple and others across the nation and abroad.
