After the huge ruckus across the country by the anti-CAA protesters and the controversial bill passed in the Parliament, this is the first time India will be facilitating the return of several Hindus and Sikhs from Afghanistan who have been receiving life threats and are persecuted in the neighborhood country.
The development comes after the release of Nidan Singh Sachdeva who had been kidnapped by Taliban on 22nd June this year and was released today afternoon.
The MEA released a statement where they appreciated the Afghanistan government in helping the release of Afghan sikh Nidan Singh and further specified "The persecution of Minority community members by the terrorists at the behest of their external supporters remains a grave concern."
Although the government has yet not specified if this return will be a product of CAA enactment or not but following the nature of the statement, it seems like it.
More developments to the case are expected.
