The incident took place while Salim was at the Bandra bandstand promenade after his morning walk. The accused mentioned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's name during the investigation.

Concerns for Salman Khan have resurfaced as a burqa-clad woman and a man threatened actor Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, using the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. This threat comes months after a gang allegedly acted on Bishnoi’s orders to fire shots at Salman Khan’s Bandra residence.

The incident took place while Salim was at the Bandra Bandstand promenade after his morning walk. The accused mentioned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name during the investigation. After the incident, the police took the suspects into custody for further investigation.

During the investigation, the suspects told the police that they were simply trying to play a prank on Khan. They were riding a two-wheeler when they spotted Salim Khan sitting at the Bandra Bandstand promenade. After making a U-turn, they approached him and asked, “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya?” (Should we send Lawrence Bishnoi to you?)

After threatening him, the couple fled the scene. Salim Khan’s bodyguard filed a complaint at the Bandra police station, leading to the registration of a case as per reports.

“We initiated an investigation and detained both suspects. During questioning, they claimed they were just playing a prank,” the police said.

Besides, the police indicated that the incident seemed to be a prank. It happened while Salim Khan was sitting at a promenade after his morning walk.

Previously, on April 14, two people on a motorcycle fired shots outside Salman Khan’s residence in the upscale Bandra area before escaping. They were later apprehended in Gujarat and charged along with Lawrence Bishnoi, his key associate, Rohit Godhara, and six others in the case.

The Mumbai Police have charged at least nine individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi, under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

The police reported that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, played a key role in motivating the shooters. After receiving a delivery of weapons in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided the shooters with information about the target and instructed them to carry out the attack at the actor’s residence. He also provided the shooters with a total of ₹3 lakh for their actions.

The ongoing investigations and developments in both incidents highlight the complex situation surrounding these threats and the significant challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing organised crime and ensuring the safety of public figures.
