In Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, a tragic incident occurred on the Colonelganj-Huzoorpur route near Baikunth Degree College, where two individuals were killed after being hit by a car from BJP Lok Sabha candidate Karan Brij Bhushan Singh son convoy.

Singh, who is running for the Kaiserganj constituency in the forthcoming elections, was with his convoy when the tragedy occurred. The accident also injured another person.

During the collision, the vehicle struck 17-year-old Rehan and 24-year-old Shehzad, who were riding a motorcycle to the Karnailganj market from Nidura village.

The collision was so severe that both men died instantly. The car then hit an electricity pole and ran over 60-year-old Sita Devi, who was sitting in front of her house. She sustained serious injuries and was taken to the local Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the SUV involved in the accident was part of Karan Bhushan Singh's convoy. The vehicle is registered under Nandini Educational Institute.

Following the accident, the Circle Officer of Karnailganj and the Karnailganj police station chief quickly arrived at the scene, where a crowd had already gathered. The police have sent the bodies of the deceased for postmortem examination and are taking further legal action.

Reports indicate that the driver has been arrested and the SUV has been seized. It remains unclear whether Karan Bhushan Singh was with the convoy at the time of the accident.

Following the incident, the Trinamool Congress criticized Singh and his family on social media. They referenced the harassment allegations against Singh's father, Brij Bhushan Singh, the former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief.

The accident has sparked a wave of outrage, and authorities are conducting a further investigation into the incident.
