Bisleri has gone a long way in keeping India's history intact by collaborating with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). They have signed a major deal under the 'Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Programme.' It is all about renovating historic water bodies, keeping them clean and beneficial for generations to come.
What does this partnership imply?
The agreement was signed on behalf of ASI, Ministry of Culture by Zulfeqar Ali, Director of ASI, and Angelo George, CEO of BisleriInternational. The MoU was then exchanged between Yadubir Singh Rawat, Director General of ASI, and George after signing. This partnership combines heritage conservation with sustainable water management, and hence it is a significant move for India's history and environment.
Which water bodies will be restored?
Under the initiative, Bisleri will assist in reviving four ancient water bodies:
Chand Baori at Abhaneri
Baori at Neemrana
Padma and Rani Talabs at Ranthambore Fort
Budha Budhi Pond at Kalinjar Fort
These bodies of water will undergo extensive cleaning, unclogging, and ecological restoration in order to restore their original beauty and significance. The operation will be phased in such a way as not to cause any disturbance to the historical landmarks. Educational sign boards will also be included to enable tourists and locals to appreciate the value of these sites.
