Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially took office today for a third consecutive term at the South Block office in Delhi, following his swearing-in ceremony last evening where he introduced a 72-member Union Council of Ministers. The first file he signed was related to the 'PM Kisan Nidhi' farmers' welfare scheme.
This initiative will benefit 9.3 crore farmers across the country, with around ₹20,000 crores being distributed.
Following the signing, PM Modi emphasized the government's strong commitment to farmer welfare, adding, "Our administration is entirely dedicated to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore appropriate that the first file signed upon taking control is connected to farmer welfare. We hope to continue to fight for farmers and the agriculture sector in the future."
Earlier, as he took the oath for his third term as Prime Minister, Modi expressed his enthusiasm for serving the nation's 140 crore citizens. This move underscores the government's focus on supporting the agriculture sector and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
The PM Kisan Nidhi scheme has been a significant initiative aimed at providing financial support to farmers, and this latest installment is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure their well-being and boost the agricultural economy.
