The Andhra Pradesh State government has started working on a Coastal Zone Tourism Master Plan (CZTMP), which is a big step forward for the growth of tourist attractions. The coastal state will be directly pitted against its neighbor to the west, Goa, under the state government's plan. Joint teams made up of representatives from the fisheries university, the tourism department, and the fisheries department have started a thorough exercise to find potential places for beach development along the coast. The teams conducted a reconnaissance last week and discovered an astounding 289 possible beaches. Their reports were then delivered to the district collectors.

The state government has given the district collectors instructions to speak with stakeholders and complete reports for the development of beaches in their respective districts in order to speed up the process. The goal is to finish this job before the AP Coastal Zone Management Authority (APCZMA) notifies the public of the draught Coastal Regulatory Zone, 2019 maps. The finalization of plans for the development of the beaches has been put on the fast track to ensure completion before the CRZ maps are informed, according to APTDC managing director K Kannababu. This will help spur development throughout the coastal region and draw tourists," the paper states.

The state government intends to work with private developers to design and construct the beaches, replete with resorts and recreational facilities, after the possible tourist destinations along the coast are decided.

The state administration has accelerated numerous other projects in addition to the CZTMP. The Oberai group is getting ready to build five-star hotels in five different tourist areas, including Gandikota, Horsley Hills, and Pichuka Lanka. Five eco-tourism projects are currently underway in various places. Three other ropeway projects are now having their feasibility studies conducted, while two ropeway projects have already finished their detailed project reports (DPRs). The state government signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with private developers at the most recent GIS, anticipating an investment in tourism projects of 20,000 crores, with approximately 10,000 crores worth of projects already in the pipeline.
