Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, addressed the Sanatana Dharma controversy by asserting that it is the only religion and that all other forms of devotion are sects. His words come at a time when there is intense discussion surrounding the subject following DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's heated comments comparing Sanatana Dharma with dengue.

Sanatan Dharma through the lens of Yogi Adityanath

Yogi Adityanath stated, "Sanatana Dharma is the only religion, the rest are all sects and methods of worship. Sanatan is the religion of humanity and if it is attacked then there will be a crisis for humanity across the globe".

He said this while giving a speech at the "Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya" gathering. The seven-day 'Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya' hosted at the Gorakhnath Temple concluded with remarks from Chief Minister Yogi at the end of the session.

Yogi Adityanath also emphasised the significance of having an open mindset in order to appreciate the essence of Shrimad Bhagwat's limited viewpoints and battle to grasp its vastness.

"The story of Bhagwat is boundless and cannot be confined to specific days or hours. It flows endlessly, and devotees continuously absorb its essence into their lives," he continued.

The celebration commemorated Mahant Digvijay Nath's 54th death anniversary as well as the national saint Mahant Avaidyanath's 9th death anniversary.

Yogi Adityanath stated earlier on Monday that "The needs of the country and society are the priority of a saint. Mahant Digvijaynath ji was one such saint. He fought against the challenges of his time."

Mahant Digvijaynath, who fought for the nation's self-respect and was a member of the Rana clan from Mewar, Rajasthan, according to the Chief Minister, dedicated his life to serving the homeland. He participated in numerous political and religious rites here in an effort to bring about social change.

"Mahant Digvijaynath ji, after joining Gorakshpeeth, first laid emphasis on education and established Maharana Pratap Education Council. To imbue the young generation with nationalism, he expanded his institutions. The Education Council established by him has contributed to the establishment of a university and has established its own university. Besides, by establishing four dozen educational training institutes, it is working to prepare the young generation to tackle challenges related to the nation and society." Yogi Adityanath continued.
