Kathua

Reasi was followed by Kathua, where two terrorists who were reportedly penetrating the border from Pakistan, attacked villagers in Saida-Sukhal village in Kathua district on Tuesday injuring a civilian.

The terrorist gained suspicion while asking for water from the villagers, when the villagers tried to alarm the local police the terrorist duo started firing resulting in an injury.

Their face-off with police resulted in the death of a terrorist who was attempting to throw a grenade at the police. However, the other terrorist managed to flee from the site of attack but he is still speculated to be hiding in the village. Security forces are using drones in the search operation for the second terrorist.

Doda

The third attack of this series was carried out in the Doda district on Tuesday night, where six security personnel were injured in a confrontation between terrorists and security forces, following an attack on a joint checkpost.

According to J&K Police ADGP Anand Jain, the terrorists opened fire at a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in the Chattargala area late at night, the firing continued for several hours.

An encounter is underway between the security forces and the terrorists in the higher reaches, he said. He also mentioned the Kathua attack as a “fresh infiltration” and pointed at Pakistan without naming the country.

“It is our hostile neighbour who always tries to damage the peaceful environment in our country. This (Hiranagar Terror attack) appears to be a fresh infiltration,” he asserted.
